Accommodations

As a rider on an American by Bicycle tour you will be housed in motels every night. All motels are AAA rated, chosen for quality, cleanliness, comfort and room size. Riders are housed three to a room, with each rider having his/her own bed. Single and double room occupancy is available, please check with the office.

Meals

Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Most are buffet or all-you-can-eat style meals. All nutritionally balanced to provide the cyclist with sufficient fuel to conquer the miles. Meals will be served in fine restaurants or hotel function rooms. Vegetarians are accommodated and welcomed.

Luggage

All your gear will be shuttled from motel to motel, you only carry what you need for the day on the bike.

Bicycles and Helmets

A well-tuned road or touring bike is our advice to riders, however, you may ride a mountain bike, tandem or recumbent if you choose. All riders are required to wear a Snell or ANSI approved helmet at all times when cycling. No exceptions!

Orientation / Final Banquet

At the beginning of each tour, America by Bicycle staff will cover all the specifics of the ride from start to finish, including what to do, sights to see, terrain, history, cycling technique, bicycle care, safety precautions and much more. And at the end of each tour a farewell banquet is scheduled. Excellent food and fun times are guaranteed as we share a final meal together and wish you a fond farewell. Family is welcome!
