Shake off the snow and head west for
America by Bicycle's
Winter Oasis Tour. This tour of California will pack beaches,
mountains, and desert into a 5-day bicycle ride starting and finishing in Orange County, California. This
off-season getaway is a boon to enjoy fewer crowds, cooler temps, cheaper airfare, and of course this is the
perfect trip to kick-off your cycling season.
We'll start with a jaunt over to Newport Beach and then head inland on 40 plus miles of car free bike path. We'll
bed down in Colton, in the heart of the Inland Empire, for the night. Day 2 reveals the hidden ranches of San
Timoteo Canyon as a seldom traveled country road takes us to Beaumont. From there, 4,000 of your adoring "fans"
will wave to you as you speed into Palm Springs. The stark desert beauty becomes pine forest for Day 3 as we
travel over the Mt San Jacinto wilderness on the Pines to Palms highway through the Anza desert and glide right
into Temecula. We'll be sure to get in early enough to sample some of this regions best wines! Day 4 will take us
south towards Escondido (home of Lawrence Welk) and through the Elfin Forest where we'll wind up back on the coast
in the town of Carlsbad. Our final day will lead us north though the Marine Corp. base of Camp Pendleton, the hills
of San Clemente, and back into the beaches of the OC while enjoying the California Coast the whole day. Instead of
hibernating this winter, be active and come out to Cali to enjoy the best weather in the country!
